Alquiaudio hires out its own 6,000 W system —Electro-Voice speakers, 18″ subwoofers, 2×15″ columns and a 32-channel desk— to individuals, companies and public bodies. It never sub-hires equipment from third parties.

What does Alquiaudio sound equipment hire include?

Hire includes the equipment, delivery, set-up, sound check, a technician for the whole event and take-down. There is no separate charge for the van or set-up hours: it is all in one fixed quote.

The truth is that most of the quotes people send us to compare don’t include the same things. Some price the equipment very low and then add delivery, set-up and overtime. At Alquiaudio we prefer the figure you see to be the figure you pay, with every item listed.

If your event doesn’t need a technician —background music in a small venue, for example— you can also collect a simple system from our warehouse. We hand it over tested and show you how to connect it in five minutes.

Active or passive speakers: which should you hire for an event?

Quick answer: for social and corporate events, active speakers are more reliable and quicker to set up; passive speakers make sense in large permanent installations. The whole Alquiaudio system is active.

We chose a 100% active system for a practical reason: at a real event, reliability matters more than theoretical power. With self-powered speakers we can split the load across two circuits and, if one socket fails, the system keeps playing at half power while we fix it.

Which sound set-up should you hire for each type of event?

The set-up depends mainly on whether there will be dancing and whether it is indoors or outdoors; the number of guests fine-tunes the rest.

Speeches, ceremonies and presentations

Two 12″ speakers on stands and one or two wireless mics. The priority is speech intelligibility, not bass. For civil ceremonies we add a headset mic for the officiant.

Background music and dinners

Two or four speakers spread out at low volume sound better than two at the back at full volume. Guests can talk at the table and the music reaches every corner.

Dancing and parties

From around 100 people dancing, a subwoofer makes all the difference. With one or two 18″ subwoofers the floor feels full without raising the overall volume, which is what usually bothers people.

Concerts and town festivals

Full 6,000 W system with 2×15″ columns, 32-channel desk and monitors. It is what we set up for live band sound and open-air dances in town squares.

Can I collect the sound equipment from the warehouse?

Yes, for simple set-ups you can collect the equipment from the Alquiaudio warehouse in the province of Barcelona and return it the next day.

We recommend it for small parties with music from a phone or laptop, with no mics and no heavy dancing. You get the equipment tested, with every cable labelled and a one-page connection guide. If anything doesn’t work, call us and we’ll help by video call.

For weddings, corporate events or anything with speeches, we prefer to be there: the difference between a well-tuned system and a badly placed one shows in the first minute of microphone use. You can compare both options in the guide hire or buy a sound system.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much does speaker hire cost in Barcelona?

Alquiaudio gives a fixed quote based on audience, hours and venue, within an hour and with no obligation. The price already includes delivery, set-up and a technician, so there are no surprises at the end. Message us on WhatsApp with the date and town to receive it.

Which sound equipment brands does Alquiaudio use?

We work with Electro-Voice 12-inch active speakers, 18-inch subwoofers, 2×15″ columns and a 32-channel Behringer Eurodesk SX3242FX desk. Everything is our own equipment, checked after every event. See the spec sheets in the Alquiaudio equipment inventory.

Can I hire just one speaker with a microphone?

Yes, we hire minimal set-ups of one or two speakers with a wireless mic. They are ideal for speeches, services, ceremonies or small presentations. You can collect them or have us deliver and set them up.

Does the hire include cables and stands?

Yes, it includes all cables, stands, brackets, power strips and adapters needed. We also bring adapters for phones, laptops and tablets. We just need the venue to have power sockets available.

How long does it take to set up a full sound system?

A full 6,000 W system takes about 90 minutes to set up and an hour to take down. Small set-ups are ready in 30 minutes. The technical Rider gives you our exact arrival time.
