LED event lighting in Barcelona

At Alquiaudio we have provided LED event lighting in Barcelona and across Catalonia since 2015: dance floors, stages, façades and dinner spaces, set up together with the sound.

We work with LED PAR lights, LED bars and DMX-controlled effects. Because it is set up with the sound, the same technician coordinates light and music during the event.

What LED lighting does an event need?

Most events need three things: ambient light for the space, coloured light for the dance floor and, if there is a stage or speeches, front light for whoever is on it.

A common mistake is lighting only the dance floor. When the rest of the space is dark, the floor looks small and people are reluctant to step onto it. With a few lights washing walls or greenery, the whole space changes and the floor becomes the natural centre.

02

LED or conventional lighting for an event?

Quick answer: LED uses far less power, doesn’t heat up and changes colour instantly; halogen lighting only makes sense in specific theatre productions.

LED’s low draw is key at masias and squares with limited power: we can light the dance floor without stealing current from the sound system. Combine it with sound equipment hire and everything arrives in the same van.

Can the lighting be synced to the music?

Yes, with DMX control the lights change colour and rhythm with the music or follow programmed scenes for each moment of the event.

At weddings we usually programme three scenes: a warm one for dinner, an entrance scene for the first dance and a dynamic one for the party. The technician switches them from the desk at the right moment, so nobody has to remember.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much does LED lighting for a wedding cost?

Alquiaudio gives a fixed quote based on the space and number of lights, with no obligation. If booked with the sound, it is set up in the same service by the same technician. Send us photos of the space so we can fine-tune it.

Can you light up the façade of a masia?

Yes, with LED PAR lights on the ground we wash façades, trees and walls in the colour you choose. It is a striking touch at evening weddings. We need to know where the nearest sockets are.

Does the lighting need a lot of power?

No, LED uses little power and can share a circuit with the sound in most cases. Even so, we calculate it in the technical Rider. Outdoors without mains power, it can run on the same generator.

Can LED lighting be used outdoors?

Yes, with protection against humidity and with lights placed away from walkways. If rain is likely, we use protected fixtures or move them under cover. Safety comes first.

Do you do smoke machines or special effects?

Ask us, because many venues don’t allow smoke due to fire detectors. We confirm what is allowed at your venue before including it. Better safe than setting off an alarm in the middle of the dancing.
