Event sound technician in Barcelona and Catalonia
At Alquiaudio we have provided event sound technicians in Barcelona and across Catalonia since 2015: the person who sets up the equipment stays for the whole event and packs it down at the end.
The technician is included in all our services with set-up. They work in English, Spanish and Catalan and know the running order before they arrive.

What does a sound technician do during an event?
Before the event they set up and test the system; during it they adjust levels, look after the mics and follow the running order; at the end they pack down.
A technician’s work shows most when it doesn’t show: when the first speech sounds clear, when the music dips on its own as the couple walks in and when nobody in the audience knows a battery was changed.

Professional technician or leave the system to a guest?
Quick answer: a guest can play music from a phone; as soon as there are mics, several moments or more than 100 people, a technician prevents the most common failures.
After more than a thousand events, the pattern is clear: sound fails less because of the equipment than because of who is running it. That is why we don’t offer set-ups without a technician, except simple warehouse collections, as explained on sound equipment hire.

Who is the technician coming to my event?
An Alquiaudio technician trained in our way of working, and at many events it is Sindy herself, the company’s founder.
We all follow the same protocol: arrive with time to spare, full check before doors open, spare mic switched on and back-up gear in the van. We tell you the technician’s name when the booking is confirmed so you can speak to them before the event. Find out more on who we are at Alquiaudio.

Frequently asked questions
Is the technician included in the price?
Yes, in every Alquiaudio service with set-up the technician is included and stays for the whole event. It is not charged separately as overtime within the agreed hours. If the event runs late, we discuss it on the spot.
Can I hire just a technician for my own equipment?
Ask us: if the equipment is in good condition and we know it, we can operate it. We prefer to see models and photos before confirming. If it doesn’t give us confidence, we will suggest using ours.
Does the technician speak English and Catalan?
Yes, we work in English, Spanish and Catalan. It is common at international weddings and conferences in Barcelona. We coordinate with masters of ceremonies and speakers in their language.
What time does the technician arrive?
Usually two to three hours before the start, depending on the set-up. The technical Rider sets the exact arrival and sound-check times. If the venue has loading times, we adapt.
What spares does the technician carry?
Mics, batteries, cables, adapters and a compact back-up sound system. It has been the Alquiaudio Plan B since 2019. That way a breakdown doesn’t stop the event.
